Freedomfest 2015
I have been a speaker at FreedomFest in Las Vegas since it began. I may not have the name recognition of some of the keynote speakers, but I am blessed to share speaking opportunities with the world’s top thinkers and doers on the topic of liberty. My focus this year is on the practical issues involved in how private contracts (like a Dynasty Trust) can privatize otherwise public or governmental functions such as settling disputes, interpreting or legal documents, and succession of property interests over time.
We don’t have to wait for social reform to take charge of our own lives. We have more choices available to us than we know. We can’t make choices we don’t know about. Learning what our choices are makes them available to us.
Leaders in Free Thought.
The concept that we are allowed to think and act freely and have our own creative ideas is shrinking as the world cowers in response to those who attempt to dictate what we can or cannot have enter our minds. Discovering and understanding our choices empowers us to exercise them. It is great to learn from and rub shoulders with champions of freedom like Mark Skousen, Steve Forbes, Grover Norquist, Dinesh D’Souza, Glen Beck, Deneen Borelli, and others. You can see my speaking schedule and topic here.
More important than anything I might say from the stage, as debates and presentations are made on world scale issues, I meet with individuals and discuss their particular world concerns. We explores the issues that are big to them personally in planning how to take control of their lives and estate rather then surrendering to the dictates of the politicians.
I help people actually put into effect practical solutions that increase personal freedom and decrease the role of government in their individual lives and affairs.
If we surrender our choices to those who profit by our inaction, our estates will be significantly reduced or consumed by taxes, litigation, and waste. When we know what our choices are, and exercise our choices to fit the individual needs and circumstances of our family and wealth profile, we get far better results. Generations spoiled by the consumption of inherited wealth is a social harm we can avoid. We can leave our estate to our children without ruining them if we know how.
Dynasty Estate Planning is one of the few areas where we can truly take control of our own lives. If we don’t have a plan for ourselves, others have a plan for us.
The goals of other people’s plans are probably not the same as our own goals.
The Five Best Practices.
I will be addressing the Five Best Practices in any asset protection or estate plan. The Family Office, the Family Bank, and the Family Foundation are a few. How we structure our estates has an enormous impact on what our wealth does to and for the generations that follow after us. Appropriately planning our own affairs is one of the most powerful things we can do to make the world a far better place. We bless others when we protect our own family in this way. I also share the stage with my friend and collaborator David Phillips of Estate Planning Specialists, who will speak on the 10 Most Common Estate Planning Mistakes.
I look forward to meeting many of my long time clients and friends as well as new clients and friends, at this year’s FreedomFest.
